You will probably have read in the local press that our County Councillors for the Bowerdean, Totteridge & Micklefield areas, Julia Wassell and Chaudhary Ditta, have both defected to the Liberal Democrats. They also represent Bowerdean at District Council level.

The Society is a group of enthusiasts: beginners to experts, young and old, male and female, whose common interest is Photography.

WDC respond to play area concerns

"The site for the new play area was chosen by a clear majority of local residents, following consultation. Access will be across flat grass, with a rough track in the grass along the edge of the woods. Should there be an identified demand for installing a small pathway once the play area has opened, we will investigate the cost and the feasibility."

New play area - love it or hate it?
on Tuesday 04 March 2008 - 08:04:53 | by The EditorA new play area is in the process of being built behind Micklefield Community Centre, replacing the old play area previously sited in Forest Way. Local residents have already had trouble with people hanging around the construction site and one resident had their greenhouse destroyed by rubble at the site being thrown. The site has now been made more secure.

New life for Totteridge Club
on Tuesday 22 January 2008 - 16:12:50 | by The EditorTotteridge Social Club on Totteridge Drive is to be given a new lease of life after a public meeting last Saturday showed there was overwelming support for the hall to be refurbished. After the meeting 57 new members joined the club which has struggled in recent years to attract people to events and to get involved. As a result of the meeting it is hoped that a new committee will be formed to oversee essential repairs, plan new activities and eventually rebuild the premises in the longer term.
Ideas needed for new Library

Pick up a questionnaire in the library or at Keith Hill's to have your say. The hunt is also on to find people in the local area to be on the library management group to ensure that it is planned, built and managed in a way that involves the community.
Micklefield loses Community Champions

Bill Wallen, who had given many years of voluntary service to Micklefield Community Centre, died on December 19th aged 73 years and Jean Fraser, librarian at Micklefield Community Library, died on 29th December, aged 61 years.
