You will probably have read in the local press that our County Councillors for the Bowerdean, Totteridge & Micklefield areas, Julia Wassell and Chaudhary Ditta, have both defected to the Liberal Democrats. They also represent Bowerdean at District Council level.

06 Jun : 20:43 | Good luck to both cllr Wassels and cllr Ditta you only have to read your spotlight east wycombe to see which of the councillors are trying to do something for their respective areas. Who cares which party they belong to, if they are trying to do their best fighting FOR the interests of the east wycombe areas? I understand that all our local councillors have the same oppertunity to contribute to the magazine and wonder at the near silence from some of them! At the last election only 24.5% of those entitled to vote actualy did vote. If the electorate think that the councillors aren't doing any thing then why should they bother to vote? I quote the last sentence of a letter recently published in the BFP from one of our councillors"The people of the town speak up when they elect local members and it's those local members that have achieved the success that is Eden." Let's hope that the people of east wycombe speak up at next years county council elections and vote for those councillors who are out there working to speak up for them. |
